About Downtown Alive
Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive is an exciting concert series in Downtown Greenville attended by 45,000 people annually. Downtown Alive was created in 1986 to support the Metropolitan Arts Council and attract visitors to the downtown area.
Today, it is the single largest fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council and continues to be one of Greenville’s most popular events. By attending, you’re not just treating yourself to a fantastic night out. You’re also supporting the local arts community and helping ensure creativity continues to thrive in Greenville.

When Is Downtown Alive?
Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive kicks off the weekend every Thursday from March 14 to August 29. The event opens at opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. Bands play two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.

The Music
Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive hosts a lineup of talented bands playing blues, rock, country, and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. With bands playing two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., you’ll have plenty of opportunities to dance to the rhythm of your favorite tunes.
Each year Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive presents a Battle of the Bands contest where the overall winner receives a performance on the last date of the concert series.

Art After Dark
This year introduces a fresh addition to Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive: Art After Dark. This exciting market will take place on the third Thursday of every month, showcasing a vibrant array of artwork crafted by talented local artists.
Not only will attendees have the opportunity to admire and purchase unique pieces, but all proceeds from the market will also go towards supporting the Metropolitan Arts Council, further enriching the local arts community.

With refreshing beverages and food trucks, you can satisfy your cravings while enjoying the show. There’s no shortage of options to tantalize your taste buds.
All festival patrons over the age of 21 must show a valid photo ID to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.
